A: You probably have a line in your /etc/hosts file that is pointing your host to the local ip of your mac osx computer. Try to remove this line (or comment it). 127.0.0.1 localhost If this does not solve your issue then you can use a tool like Tinker to find out where this line is placed. Hope this helps. Advanced oxidation of MO in the presence of Cu(II) based on redox cycling: a combined experimental and DFT study. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and aliphatic hydrocarbons (AH) are among the most abundant chemical pollutants in the environment. Aqueous chemistry may be a major but still elusive source of their bioavailability in the environment. While they are generally highly reactive to ozone, they appear to have limited reactivity with ·OH. In this work, liquid-liquid microextraction (LLME) coupled with chromatographic separation and subsequent analysis by GC-MS was used to study the reaction of four aliphatic OH-acids (AOHAc) with tert-butyl hydroxylperoxide (TBHOO), a synthetic model for the oxidation of AH by ·OH. Among the four tested OH-acids, 2-chloropropanoic acid (HACr) was found to react most efficiently with TBHOO, with 95% conversion (2-oxo-propyl-alcohol (HAPol) yields) in less than 10 min at pH 7.4. A detailed study on the reaction mechanism based on MALDI-TOF-MS-MS and deuterium-labeling, combined with DFT calculations, allowed for the identification of two possible reaction pathways, where the HO-Cl intermediate is at first oxidized and then hydrogenated to a secondary alcohol. The reaction can be subsequently completed by a highly oxidizing (and consequently fast) OH-hydrogenation, which regenerates the parent OH-acid. The DFT calculations were further found to be in good agreement with experimental results. The outcome of this study show the power of this approach for the study of reaction mechanisms in the presence of Cu(II) and therefore opens up for promising new approaches for the advanced oxidation of OH-acids by ·OH.import { propsToStatus, statusToProps, Interpolator, } from '../utils' d0c515b9f4
